Made Urban Website Relaunch

Exciting news! The Edmonton based online selling and shopping site, Made Urban has relaunched their website!

Made Urban (www.madeurban.com) is an Alberta based website for buying and selling locally made goods and services. The website has been given a makeover and recently re-launched to include more features and expand the ways people can support local. For vendors this means an opportunity to list goods that aren’t ideal for shipping, and services that can only be offered locally.

People can browse Made Urban by province or narrow it down by city to see what’s being handmade, homemade or homegrown in their community. It gives vendors another outlet to advertise their business and buyers a place to find them when they’re not at a craft show or farmers’ market.

There are a variety of vendors to be found on the Products page from one of a kind art and jewelry to homemade cookies and jams. Users can browse the Service page to find local photographers, caterers, florists or even crafty classes and workshops being offered.

Made Urban was founded by Erin Mooney after she ran her own crafty business for years and was looking for another outlet to sell her goods, without having to compete with people around the world. The idea was built around the sense of community that comes from being at a craft show, and giving a platform for small businesses to be seen and supported by their neighbours.

Attracted to shiny things, hence my fascination with making jewellery, I also make fun things involving dinosaur buttons and felt. Mad organizational skills in the office that never quite seem to transition to the home front, but what is life without a little chaos?
